REGENESIS and Hyder Consulting accept two Brownfield Briefing Awards.

Please join us in congratulating REGENESIS’ European Group and our client Hyder Consulting for being awarded not only once, but twice at the recent Brownfield Briefing Awards. During this key industry event, both were recognized for best project in two specific categories:

  • Best In Situ Remedial Treatment
  • Best Project Closure / Verification Process

The awards, held annually in London as a part of the annual Brownfield Briefing conference, recognize best practices and innovation in brownfield development and remediation across the United Kingdom. Both awards were given in recognition of a voluntary cleanup project in Little Hulton, a village in Manchester, England, for the successful remediation of a historic chlorinated solvent groundwater spill beneath an active dry cleaning facility.

The project was recognized for a number of reasons including the fact that it used in-situ, enhanced anaerobic bioremediation to successfully treat high chlorinated concentrations (including residual DNAPL) in excess of 250,000 μg/L. Additionally, the remediation program achieved site closure within two years and through a single treatment event using a range of Regenesis’ products including: 3-D Microemulsion®, HRC®, and HRC-X®. Finally, the project avoided a large and costly excavation plan that had the potential to severely disrupt on-going business activities and increase the chances of structural damage.
