One of the things we do to study reactivity is looking at batch studies. So, we do studies in bottles where we can control a number of different variables. We can look at pH. We can look at different soil matrixes. We can study conditions biotically or abiotically. And doing these studies in a lab allows us to look at all the different variables that we would encounter in the field.
