First broadcast: April 19, 2016

Speakers: Dr. Richard Bewley, AECOM Technical Director for UK and Ireland, and Dr. Jeremy Birnstingl, Vice President of Environmental Technology at REGENESIS

On 19th April 2016, Dr. Richard Bewley, AECOM Technical Director for UK and Ireland, co-presented this one-hour webinar with Dr. Jeremy Birnstingl, Vice President of Environmental Technology at REGENESIS.

Doctors Bewley and Birnstingl have more than 60 years combined experience in the international remediation industry, both specialising in bioremediation within their wider remediation technology experience. This webinar uses the backdrop of a case study to explore key themes and considerations of chlorinated solvent bioremediation, including:

  • pH
  • Microbial addition and its need, cause, and effects
  • Typical trends
  • Preferred tracking parameters
  • Donor selection considerations
  • Integration of bio with other technologies
  • Budgetary costs

The case study itself will present an example of a ‘one shot’ clean-up to site closure of chlorinated ethene contamination under an operational facility, with access restricted both spatially and temporally.
