Speakers: Helena Nord (RGS Nordic) and Jack Shore (REGENESIS)

Our webinar guest speaker series continues with Helena Nord of RGS Nordic discussing a complex groundwater project located in a redevelopment area in Central Stockholm, Sweden. A former gasworks left a complex mix of contaminants impacting the soil, groundwater and shoreline sediments. One of the more challenging problems to overcome was the contaminated groundwater at depth: down to 20 meters below ground level. The City of Stockholm engaged RGS Nordic who worked with REGENESIS to find viable solutions to the problems. In this webinar you will learn how three sets of pilot tests were carried out using different in-situ remediation products – including PersulfOx®, RegenOx®, ORC Advanced® and PetroCleanze® – to test the efficacy of in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), enhanced aerobic biodegradation (ENA) and enhanced desorption, and how the outcome of these have informed the full-scale remediation design of this complex site.

Helena Nord
Project Manager, RGS Nordic
Helena has a MSc in Soil Science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and has been working as a Project Manager with RGS Nordic since 2011. She manages all kinds of projects but specializes in in situ technologies, including biological degradation, chemical oxidation and physical removal methods. In addition to this, development of current and new technologies and adjusting them to different sites are also an important part of her work.

Jack Shore
District Manager, UK & Scandinavia, REGENESIS
Jack is in charge of the UK and Scandinavian business district within REGENESIS. As part of this role, he manages a team providing technical support and design work to a mix of Design and Build Consultancies, Remediation Contractors and Blue-Chip Clients. Jack has over 10 years of experience within the remediation industry and most recently has successfully implemented the first injection of PlumeStop to effectively stabilise a PFAS plume in the EU. His experience ranges from supervising site investigations, developing in situ remediation designs, and managing large-scale remediation projects with multiple stakeholders.
