- Rapid, Measurable Results: Achieved over 99% reduction in PCE concentrations within 30 days of pilot application, with sustained performance across the full-scale treatment zone.
- Cost-Effective, Sustainable Solution: Replaced a pump-and-treat system that extracted 18 million gallons of groundwater, delivering faster closure and significant savings in time and resources.
- No Daughter Product Accumulation: Advanced technologies enabled complete degradation of PCE without buildup of harmful daughter compounds, ensuring regulatory goals were met efficiently—even in complex subsurface conditions.
An innovative in situ remediation strategy rapidly transformed a challenging commercial redevelopment site impacted by high concentrations of tetrachloroethene (PCE). Faced with slow progress from traditional pump-and-treat systems, REGENESIS and Atlas implemented a targeted combination of ISCR and ERD technologies—including 3-D Microemulsion®, S-MicroZVI®, and Bio-Dechlor INOCULUM Plus®—to deliver immediate, sustained contaminant reduction and accelerate site closure. This approach not only eliminated the need for long-term groundwater extraction but also supported redevelopment goals and regulatory compliance.
