A controlled-release oxygen technology for long-lasting aerobic biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater.

Proven benefits in groundwater remediation

ORC Advanced accelerates petroleum hydrocarbon degradation up to 100× faster than natural attenuation. One application supports up to 12 months of aerobic bioremediation with minimal site disturbance, no aboveground equipment, and low costs. Simple to apply via direct push, wells, or excavation, it’s a reliable, regulatory-accepted solution for faster site closure.

What is it?

ORC Advanced is a calcium-peroxide-based amendment designed for in situ bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbons. A single application delivers a steady supply of oxygen for up to 12 months, stimulating aerobic microbes and driving degradation rates up to 100 times faster than natural attenuation.

How it works?

Once applied, ORC Advanced reacts with groundwater to release oxygen in a controlled manner. This oxygen supports native microbial communities that break down petroleum hydrocarbons, providing fast, effective treatment with minimal disturbance and no continuously operating equipment to maintain.

Is it right for my site?

ORC Advanced is well-suited for petroleum hydrocarbon impacts at service stations, tank sites, and industrial properties. It can be applied during excavation and mixed with backfil in pellet form or injected as a slurry directly into groundwater. It is compatible with ISCO and other bioremediation approaches for accelerated cleanup.

What is Oxygen Release Compound Advanced® (ORC-A)?

Oxygen Release Compound Advanced is an engineered oxygen release compound designed specifically for enhanced, in situ  aerobic bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater or saturated soils. The newly present oxygen allows the microorganisms to transform organic contaminants into carbon dioxide, water, and microbial cell mass.

Upon contact with groundwater, Oxygen Release Compound Advanced® (ORC-A) becomes hydrated producing a controlled-release of molecular oxygen (17% by weight) for periods of up to 12 months on a single application. The new and available oxygen produced by ORC accelerates aerobic biodegradation processes 10 to 100 times faster than their naturally occurring rates. ORC provides remediation practitioners with a significantly faster and more effective means of treating petroleum contaminated sites.

Oxygen Release Compound Advanced® (ORC-A) is right for your project if you are remediating petroleum hydrocarbons in soil or groundwater and your site goals require an approach that is quicker than natural attenuation.
