Featured Article | 65% More Cost-Effective PFAS Treatment Solution Applied at Martha’s Vineyard
The PFAS issue at airports takes center stage in this article from the State Aviation Journal, which not only outlines the problem but also sheds light on a recent case study at Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY). The popular regional airport had a PFAS contaminant plume in groundwater migrating away from a fire training site, and employed colloidal activated carbon (CAC) to eliminate the PFAS risk to the community’s private wells near the site. In contrast to traditional “pump & treat” systems, in situ remediation with CAC barriers avoids exposing communities to PFAS being brought to the surface and expensive, management-intensive PFAS waste streams. It also avoids long-term power consumption, increased greenhouse gas emissions, and operation and maintenance costs, making it 65% more cost-effective, efficient, and 98% less GHG emissions.

Case Study | Accurate Mapping of CVOC Flux Zones Using FluxTracers Saves $380,000 in Project Costs
A former manufacturing facility was treated with a combined in situ biogeochemical reduction solution. This approach utilized accurate flux zone mapping with FluxTracers, enabling swift mitigation of a potential threat to a large river and resulting in a significant cost saving of $380,000 for the client. Wilcox Environmental Engineering, Inc., a leading engineering and consulting firm, evaluated the remedial options and worked with REGENESIS to design a solution to effectively treat the TCE plume using biogeochemical reduction in the onsite plume area and sorption-enhanced chemical reduction in the offsite plume.

Webinar | Crucial Design Tips for Effective Vapor Mitigation Implementation
We are pleased to have special guest speaker Spencer Cox, Project Environmental Specialist at United Consulting, share his extensive contaminant vapor mitigation implementation experience in this month’s “Distinguished Speaker” webinar. His presentation will provide crucial design tips for practitioners responsible for vapor mitigation planning and construction with an emphasis on the design process. Attendees will gain valuable insight into the significance of vapor mitigation and the pivotal role a robust QA/QC program, along with proper installation techniques, plays in ensuring the long-term success of their project. He will be joined by Jason Wilt, Southeast District Technical Manager at Land Science.
Webinar | PFAS Regulatory State of the Union
In this webinar we were pleased to have special guest speaker, Taryn McKnight, PFAS Practice Leader for Eurofins Environment Testing. Her presentation discussed regulatory actions at both the federal and state levels to address PFAS contamination. The complete recording is now available.
