Case Study Video | Utilizing PetroFix to Address Petroleum Leaks at Active Bulk Storage Facility

A historical petroleum leak from a well-established bulk storage facility located in the town center posed a serious environmental threat, jeopardizing the local groundwater resources. To tackle the issue of gasoline range contaminants, WCEC, a prominent environmental firm, was contracted.

Webinar | A Business Case for Achieving Significant Cost Savings Using Colloidal Activated Carbon

Special guest speaker Jim Rolle, Director of Environmental Services at WCEC, discussed a business case for the use of colloidal activated carbon in this webinar presentation. He was joined by Todd Herrington, Director of Product Management at REGENESIS.

Webinar Highlights:

  • Conceptual site model development for in situ remediation
  • Business analysis of long-term monitoring versus in situ remediation at a Washington site
  • New strategy for using colloidal activated carbon (CAC) for in situ remediations

Case Study | PetroFix Permeable Reactive Barrier Prevents Off Site Risk at Active Gas Station

An active gas station in the United Kingdom where dissolved phase contamination at high concentrations in groundwater migrated beyond the site boundary, resulting in a potential off-site liability. An in situ permeable reactive barrier (IPRB) using PetroFix colloidal activated carbon was installed to prevent offsite risk.

Case Study Highlights:

  • Groundwater samples taken post-application demonstrated all remedial objectives have been met
  • PetroFix IPRB was the most sustainable option for the site
  • Application completed at a significantly lower cost and in less time than pump and treat

Technical Bulletin | Laboratory and Field Results Documenting the Biodegradation of Contaminants from CAC

An abbreviated overview of laboratory experiments and a fieldwork demonstration that shows evidence for the biodegradation of contaminants from CAC is showcased in this technical bulletin.

Technical Bulletin Highlights:

  • Overview of how PlumeStop and PetroFix CAC technologies are paired with biostimulating electron acceptors or donors to destroy absorbed contaminants
  • Summary of a biodegradation bench-scale study, and full contaminant mineralization in the presence of CAC
  • Field beta trials with PetroFix
