Research Associate

Job Title: Research Associate

Job Description: REGENESIS, a global leader in the groundwater and soil remediation industry, is currently seeking a full-time Research Associate to work at their corporate headquarters in San Clemente, CA. The Research Associate will perform specialized laboratory experiments within well-defined guidelines in support of product development research. This position reports to the Director of R&D.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop, organize, and execute laboratory experiments in support of current and developing product lines and technologies
  • Validate performance of products/technologies acquired from or developed by 3rd party laboratories
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Document all procedures, data, and results in notebooks
  • Analyze results and prepare reports and presentations as needed
  • Coordinate with 3rd party analytical labs and analyze data
  • Develop and author standard operating procedures
  • Assist with the development and review of marketing content as needed
  • Follow laboratory compliance and safety policies
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or related field with strong background in groundwater remediation technologies

OR

  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering with a strong background in chemistry and/or microbiology
  • At least 2 years experience in environmental industry or chemical research
  • Knowledge and experience in a wide range of wet chemistry laboratory practices including handling of volatile chemicals
  • Hands on experience with laboratory instrumentation including GC/MS, UV-Visible spectrometer, and HPLC
  • Familiarity with EPA test methods
  • Experience performing microcosm studies
  • Excellent math skills and an attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibits individual initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
