When Cat Boettner started as an intern with REGENESIS last February, nearly a year ago, she may have felt optimistic about her prospects for eventually joining the team in a full-time position. Afterall, in general about 70% of interns receive a job offer from the company they intern with upon graduation from college. Sure enough, when she graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Long Beach in December 2021 with her BS in Sociology, Boettner was offered a position as a Social Media/Marketing Specialist. She shares, “I am excited about being part of a company that aligns itself with sustainable practices, and one that is helping to propel environmental efforts within the corporate sector and beyond.” Boettner achieved a 4.0 GPA throughout her undergraduate career and was awarded Honors in her Major for completing a year-long Sociology honors program. During this program phase she developed and executed an ethnographic research study analyzing homelessness in Southern California. She continues, “The project was quite extensive, and culminated in a 30-page prospectus which I presented to an audience of Sociologists and professionals alike.” In her new position, Boettner’s passion for environmentalism and sustainability can be leveraged in a variety of different ways, especially through the utilization of various social media platforms.

Outside of work, Boettner enjoys music, camping, hiking, going to concerts and watching films, but it’s her love of music that especially captures her heart. “I’ve studied music for most of my life,” she says. “So I really love playing and writing my own. I’ve also studied voice my entire life (both my parents are musicians), and I am a self-taught guitarist and pianist. My favorite genres to listen to, as well as play, are Indie Rock and Jazz.” Before the pandemic, Boettner performed at small local venues, playing both her original material as well as covers of her favorite artists, which include Phoebe Bridgers, Talking Heads, Chet Baker, Pinegrove, Radiohead, and Sarah Vaughn. She shares, “I had the opportunity to see Pinegrove live in LA right before the lockdown, and that has been a very special memory for me ever since.” Her love for the great outdoors includes several iconic destinations. She adds, “My favorite camping and hiking locations include Anza Borrego, Kern River, Joshua Tree, Big Sur, and of course, Yosemite.” She also finds time to volunteer as a member of her local Citizens Climate Lobby chapter. With her strong connection to the environment and her new full-time role with REGENESIS, Boettner feels she is poised for an exciting chapter as she launches her professional career. She concludes, “I’m very excited to see where the future takes me!”

REGENESIS is proud to welcome Cat Boettner to the team and appreciates her accomplished background in social media and marketing as she works to both engage and educate our clients on the company’s ongoing efforts to provide successful remediation solutions.
