Client Spotlight: Yen-Vy Van, Senior Hydrogeologist at Maul Foster & Alongi

When you ask Yen-Vy Van, Senior Hydrogeologist at Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA), about her day-to-day responsibilities, it’s hard to believe that one person could do so much. From preparing technical documents and reports, to project and client management, to proposal development and other key duties, Van’s involvement seems to touch on nearly every aspect of what MFA does for their clients. Shares Van, “I especially enjoy the technical aspects of my work, such as applying forensic analysis and groundwater modeling of contaminants during remedial investigations to complete a more thorough investigation and understanding of the transport and fate of contaminants impacting the subsurface.” Learn more about Yen-VY Van in our client spotlight.

Controlled-Release Oxygen Pellets for Enhanced Aerobic Biodegradation in Excavations

ORC Advanced® Pellets are a dust-minimizing, dry application, pelletized form of the widely used ORC Advanced controlled-release oxygen compound. They are designed specifically for the treatment of dissolved-phase petroleum hydrocarbons through direct application into excavations, petroleum storage tank pits, trenches and backfill. ORC Advanced Pellets significantly minimize airborne dust associated with the handling and application of dry powders while eliminating the need for mixing equipment and spray-water required for liquid slurry-type applications.

Employee Spotlight: Paul Erickson, Ph.D., Research Scientist

Paul Erickson REGENESISWhen Paul Erickson transitioned from his former role as a Senior Scientist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) to his current position as Research Scientist with REGENESIS, he knew immediately his move would enable him to apply his accomplished academic and scientific background to real-world solutions. “I had already started exploring my next career move when I heard about this opportunity,” explains Erickson. “I had first started looking for opportunities in Switzerland, and then beyond. When I became aware of the opening with REGENESIS, I was immediately interested. My new position allows me to combine my prior expertise, with what I was hoping to do in the next phase of my career- identify and develop new environmental solutions.” With an accomplished background in environmental chemistry, Erickson’s move to REGENESIS was, in his words, “a natural choice,” and he is excited about immersing himself in his work and collaborating with the REGENESIS team.

Upcoming Webinar

Using Geology to Follow the Groundwater:
Follow the Flow to Successful Remediation

Join us for a special webinar presentation with Rick Cramer, CA Remediation Department Manager at Burns & McDonnell. His presentation will demonstrate Environmental Sequence Stratigraphy (ESS), an established methodology that significantly reduces the uncertainty and provides the framework for characterizing contaminant migration pathways and defining the conceptual site model (CSM). Joining Mr. Cramer will be Craig Sandefur, Vice President of Remediation Applications Development at REGENESIS. This live webinar starts Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at 11am pacific/2pm eastern.
