Case Study: PCE treatment under school grounds

Environmental consultancy TAUW investigated a widespread tetrachloroethene (PCE) plume under an Italian city. In collaboration with REGENESIS and Università La Sapienza di Roma, a master plan was developed to treat the entire plume using a series of barriers across the aquifer. This case study describes the approach and results from the first barrier, which was safely and easily installed within school grounds.
