Article: Canadian Environmental Remediation Experts Lead Efforts to Address PFAS

The current issue of Water Canada highlights the remedial success of the first known PFAS site successfully treated to eliminate risk in Canada. Rick McGregor, President of InSitu Remediation Services, Ltd., was the first to demonstrate successful in-situ treatment of PFAS in groundwater. Modeling results at the first successful site in Canada indicate the colloidal activated carbon (CAC) treatment will be effective for more than 60 years. In-situ treatment of PFAS with CAC is now being implemented at a fraction of the cost of operating a groundwater extraction and sorption system. This method is now being used internationally with sites seeing successful results around the globe.

Webinar Recording Now Available: Is That Your PFAS?

In this webinar we were pleased to have as a special guest speaker Elizabeth Denly, PFAS Initiative Leader & Chemistry Director at TRC. Her presentation discussed using forensics to identify sources of PFAS, the efficacy and limitations of using PFAS analytes as fingerprints for source identification, and the challenges of source identification due to chemical signatures from samples collected at numerous PFAS source areas. She was joined by Maureen Dooley, Vice President – Industrial Sector at REGENESIS, who discussed the latest developments about colloidal activated carbon’s use in the remediation industry as a low-cost method of eliminating PFAS risk. The full recording of the webinar is now available here.

Upcoming Webinar: Attaining PFAS Criteria in Groundwater Predictability, Sensitivity, & Practicability

As part of our Distinguished Speaker Series, we are pleased to have as a special guest Jeff Hale, Practice Leader – Emerging Contaminants at Woodard & Curran. His presentation will discuss attaining PFAS criteria in groundwater. He will be joined by Dr. Kristen Thoreson, Vice President of Quality and Process Improvement at REGENESIS, who will discuss the latest developments about colloidal activated carbon’s use in the remediation industry as a low-cost method of eliminating PFAS risk. This webinar starts Thursday, June 16th at 11am pacific/2pm eastern.

Webinar Recording Now Available: Innovative Remediation via PetroFix Injections and Flooding Active Tank Basins

In this webinar we were pleased to have as a special guest speaker Monica Young, Senior Project Manager at CGRS, Inc. Her presentation discussed a wide range of sites where CGRS has successfully applied PetroFix liquid carbon amendment to address petroleum hydrocarbon impacts. Application methods and results using direct push injection among other application approaches to reach Tier IV risk-based closure were also discussed. She was joined by Todd Herrington, Global PetroFix Product Manager at REGENESIS, who discussed PetroFix and new in-situ approaches it is being utilized for. The complete recording is now available here.

Case Study: PetroFix Applied to Active UST Basin, Quickly Meeting Cleanup Goals

This case study reviews an active gasoline station in Colorado where stained soils were discovered during the replacement of the underground storage tank (UST) spill buckets. After considering multiple options, CGRS, a leading environmental consulting firm, developed and implemented an innovative, low-risk, and highly cost-effective treatment program utilizing PetroFix to address the groundwater contamination in-situ.
