Presenter: Todd Herrington, Global PetroFix Product Manager, REGENESIS and Marcello Carboni, Regional Manager Europe, REGENESIS

In this technical webinar, Todd Herrington, the Global PetroFix Product Manager at REGENESIS, presents design and application best practices for the combined use of sorption and biological degradation using colloidal activated carbon (CAC) to remediate petroleum hydrocarbon plumes.

Discussion is made of product design, treatment mechanisms, plus substrate movement and emplacement. Laboratory and third-party field measurements of placement verification is shown, and how to design effective remedial strategies using this information.

Marcello Carboni, Regional Manager Europe, joins Todd to show a range of case studies to exemplify different usage scenarios, application approaches and validation results.

The webinar includes:

  • Design and application best practices
  • Creating the ideal activated carbon size for distribution and treatment –  supported by laboratory and third-party field research
  • Combined sorption and biological degradation explained
  • Successful and innovative PetroFix case studies:
    • Where PetroFix achieved site closure after ~15 years of prior remedial activities and how distribution verification testing helped ensure successful contact.
    • Where PetroFix was used to flood an active underground storage tank basin at a Petrol Filling Station site to address residual source mass.
    • Where PetroFix was implemented as a successful permeable reactive barrier below the foundation of a building and how spacing and logistic challenges were overcome.
